Middle School Spotlight - Day in Review
Carolina Girls Hoops Report hosted the 3rd annual Middle School Spotlight camp for players currently in the 2027 - 2031 Classes, the event was held on Sunday January 29, 2023 at United Faith Christian Academy in Charlotte, NC. There were 23 attendees to this year's camp and many of the players attending were new faces to this camp. I will highlight some of the Top Players from this event.
MVP - 2027 - 6’1” - Forward - Ja’Nyia Cunningham - South Carolina - Played extremely well in all parts of the camp, showcased a nice handle and agility during skills & drills - Great form on her jump shot as she knocked down multiple throughout the day. High Level Interior scorer with ability to stretch the floor.
Queen Of The Court - 2027 - 5’7” - Guard - Ashiyah Hughes - North Carolina - Athletic guard that has the ability to create and make tough shots, was able to run off 5 wins in a row to secure the Queen of the court.

2027 - 5’11” - Guard - Sutton Eldredge - Virginia - Outstanding shooter with perimeter skills, played very well all day.
2028 - 6’2” - Forward - JaKaila Gaskin - North Carolina - Extremely athletic 2 way player that is a rim protector and interior scorer.
2027 - 5’9” - Guard - Madison Drayton - North Carolina - Elite perimeter defender that can guard all players on the court, physical player that can get to the rim and finish in traffic.
2028 - 5’6” - Guard - Treasure Davis - South Carolina - Athletic combo guard that can get to the rim and finish in traffic, great shot form and range.
2027 - 5’7” - Guard - Giuselle Lyons - North Carolina - Athletic combo guard that showed great range and shot form during Queen of the court and 5 on 5 play.
2027 - 5’9” - Guard - Amani Barner - North Carolina - Athletic Combo Guard with the ability to play all 3 guard positions on the court, can attack the rim and finish in traffic.
2028 - 5’9” - Guard - Ailema Land - South Carolina - High level competitor that has a high skill set to match, Ailema is a Lefty Shooter that can hit from volleyball line range consistently as a 7th grader.
- 2027 - 5’7” - Guard - Khwnylahi McKinnon - South Carolina - High level athlete that was one of the more impressive 1st time players I saw in the gym, Combo guard that showcased very good vision and passing ability.
2029 - 5’10” - Wing - Morgan Fields - North Carolina - Highly skilled player that is a skilled ball handler can score with her back to the basket but is great on the perimeter and has formed a consistent jump shot
2029 - 5’8” - Guard - Kemoni Hardy - South Carolina - Highly skilled combo guard that can play all 3 guard positions on the court, contributes at my events when playing 2 -3 age groups ahead at some times.
