Rising Bluestar & Bluestar Combine - Charlotte 2023

Event Recap & Top Players

On Saturday, October 14th Bluestar Basketball held the Rising Bluestar & Bluestar Combine Charlotte at the Talbert Recreation Center in Mooresville, NC. There were 20 players in attendance from NC, SC, TN & VA, I will highlight those that stood out.

  • 2030 - 5’5” - Guard - Kirsten Fulton (SC) - Athletic guard that has a very high skill set for her age. Kirsten showed a nice handle and agility during drills. During the game play I believe Kirsten was able to take it up a notch and competed at a high level and made plays for herself and others.

  • 2031 - 5’0” - Guard - Annalese Schroeder (TN) - Skilled guard who was able to compete with players four years older than her in game play. Annalese is a shooter who can get to the rim and uses her handle to create space for her shot and dish to her teammates.

  • 2028 - 5’5” - Guard - Sophie Montana (NC) - Very good showing by Sophie during this event.  She went through the drills at a high level and was able to showcase very good lateral movement. I enjoyed watching Sophie drive and dish during game play and there was no hesitation when she had space to let her shot fly.

  • 2028 - 5’10” - Forward - Mickenzie Cooper (VA) - My first time seeing Mickenzie and she has great size and skill. She did a great job during skills & drills by doing every drill at a high pace. During game play she was able to utilize her versatility to score baskets on the block and the perimeter.

  • 2026 - 6’0” - Guard - Autumn Washington (NC) - High level athlete that was dominant especially during Queen of the Court, she used her length and quickness to win the competition. Autumn used her jumpshot and slashing ability to cause havoc all day in the event. She is a two way player that is a stat sheet stuffer.

  • 2028 - 5’9” - Guard - Jade Bell (NC) - Athletic combo guard that showed an ability to get to the rim and finish in traffic. Jade is a two way player that showed a high skill set during drills. I enjoyed watching Jade compete in game play. She is a tough matchup and was able to show some range on her jumpshot.

  • 2028 - 5’8” - Guard - Ailema Land (SC) - Shooter with a high skill set and ability to get to the rim. Ailema was pounding the basketball during drills and worked at a high pace. I am looking forward to seeing her develop as she is just starting to scratch the surface of her ability.

  • 2028 - 5’6” - Guard - Jade Barlow (SC) - Outstanding performance throughout the day.  Jade was locked in during skills and drills and showed high level ability. Combo guard with the ability to finish in traffic, shoot the ball with consistency, and create for others.

  • 2028 - 5’10” - Wing - Kennedi Young (VA) - Long, athletic player that has tremendous versatility on the court. Kennedi showcased a high skill set during drills and shot the ball very well. During game play is when Kennedi was able to do it all. She handled the ball and rebounded as well to help her team.

  • 2030 - 5’3” - Guard - Mackenzie Larkins (NC) - Skilled player that was outstanding throughout the day. Mackenzie went through skills and drills at a high pace and did very well. During game play Mackenzie was able to play on and off the ball and was fluid in her play.

  • 2027 - 5’0” - Guard - Makayla Moore (SC) - I enjoyed watching Makayla work during this camp. She is a very quick lead guard that can attack the rim to score or dish to teammates.  During skills and drills Makayla was outstanding and has a nice handle and great pace on the court.
